Scalable Signalling Solution
A signalling protocol used for initiating, maintaining, and terminating communication sessions that include voice, fax, and messaging applications.
Benefits
Comprehensive and Scalable
Available for both Microsoft Windows Server and Linux. SIP 2.0 freely available for use with Prosody X and Prosody S
Suited for a range of applications
Comprehensive set of functionality used to facilitate a range of enterprise and telco level service applications.
Highly resilient
Dual-redundant architecture means you never lose connectivity.
Global
Wherever your customers are located, the Aculab SIP Stack supports local communications.
Features
Extended SIP APIs
The extended SIP API provides fine-grained access to SIP features that cannot be represented in a protocol independent manner.
Third party Call Control
Ability to redirect media streams between different end points while maintaining call control.
SIP session timer
Detects lost signalling endpoints throughout call duration, facilitating preservation of signalling resources.
Back-to-Back User Agent
Acting as an intermediary; it actively manages communications sessions between SIP end-points. It controls dynamic call routing, authentication and encryption. This feature increases fault tolerance and supports highly redundant session control.
Techical Specification
- Standards-based – telo-grade SIP stack able to handle 1,000+ concurrent calls.
- Full control – C-based API provides low level control of SIP headers and media SDP.
- High resilience – Dual-redundant stack deployment option available.
- Choice of OS – Supported on Microsoft Windows and Linux.
- Media stack independent – Used with Aculab Prosody X, Prosody S, or your own 3rd party media.

- Fine control of SDP content – Facilitating multiple media streams, non-RTP payload types, third party call control.
- Access to raw SIP messages – Enabling applications to be more “SIP aware” and have greater choice when responding to SIP requests.
- Custom headers and message bodies – Greater flexibility to call setups, and mid-call signalling. Providing a means of passing PSTN information over IP calls.
- No data size limits – Send and receive unlimited size data messages, through the use of char* types and linked lists within the API to represent types whose size is undefined.
